Free Games- A Tool for Learning

From the moment that I realized what an asset a computer was as a learning tool, I have found that games can be a powerful asset to any learning curriculum. Using educational games does not do away with the need for a child to be constantly practicing their writing skills. But using games as a learning tool encourages a child to focus their attention, and promote self- motivation. In other words, meeting the challenge of a game teaches a child that life is always a challenge that most be met head on.

Many children have never been encouraged to be no self-motivational skill, as a result they have problems focusing their attention of their school work, or seeing the importance of gaining an education. Especailly children with learning problems like ADHD. In dealing with my ADHD grandson, I have found that you can't force an education upon a child. Despite what some teachers and parents have come to believe, using force, or discipline does not encouage a love of learning. All it does is teach a child to hate learning and encouages subborn resistence against teacher and parents that understand the importance of an education.

By using math games, I have encouraged my grandson to being to look at education as fun and not a boring endeavor. Although I only require 15 minutes of his time on games he considers boring, I have no time limit on games that he finds a challenge. Not only do games benefit by grandchildren's education, but it allows me time with each child on an individual level each day. Try a few games and see if they don't help you meet the educational needs of your child or children on a daily bases…

If you are…
1. Already teaching your child for the first time but undecided whether you have made the right choice.
2. Contemplating becoming a homeschool teacher.
3. Unable to homeschool your child but have come to realize that your child is struggling to learn.

You might be willing to listen to a Grandmother who has already been where you are today. I have written an article called " Children in Crisis - Struggling to Learn" which I am giving away for free. With only one small string attached, all you need to do is ask!
